I studied English Literature with Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, before going on to do an MA in Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London. My dissertation was on the conflict between the natural and the mechanical in the steampunk genre.
In 2012, I was short-listed for the Escalator Literary Prize for Fiction. My novel-in-progress is represented by the Janklow & Nesbit literary agency. (I hope to give them a completed manuscript before they forget who I am.)
I worked in editorial publishing before starting my own writing and editing business, Playle Editorial Services. As a freelance copywriter and editor, I’ve worked with publishers, businesses and individuals on a variety of projects – from critiquing short stories, to editing manuscripts, to writing marketing copy. I’m also the founder and editor-in-chief of Inkspill Magazine.
